Back to School

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. Matt's back in school, going for his Associate's in Engineering, and oddly enough, I miss it. I miss school. Geesh, I never thought I'd hear myself saying that. I don't think it's the papers and the homework, but rather the working toward a goal. I've been looking at programs for a while now, and I've finally decided to go back to Salem State (again) to get [another] Master's Degree. This time, I'm thinking I'll go for a degree in Reading. It will definitely help me in my classroom teaching and in the years to come, maybe I'll opt to become a reading specialist. Who knows? Regardless, after much talk and lots of research, a 500 word essay on my goals, 3 letters of reference, and a few chats with Salem State professors, I'm heading back! I start on May 29th. For the summer, I'm going to take four classes. Nothing like diving in head first! I figure, the more classes and credits I get out of the way before the wedding, the better. Then, I'm hoping, I can start taking my required classes (to keep my licensure) in topics that I really want to learn about like World War II. I hope I can get back into the swing of things quickly and easily! Wish me luck!

One Year

Can you believe we've been in the house for one year? I'm amazed and blessed everyday.
That also means that we've been engaged for one whole year! We're just 14 months or so away from the wedding now. Wedding planning is terrible and wonderful at the same time. We still need to find a caterer who will in turn help us to rent tents, tables, chairs, linens, etc. I've got my dress and the bridesmaids, JJ, Missa, Cole, Shannon, & Corey, have picked out their dresses - just need to get those ordered. I haven't even touched what the guys, Rey, Stu, Eric, Joshy, & Tony, are wearing, but I'm sure that won't be too difficult. I've got my fabulous photographer - Hexfire Photography - whom I love. I've picked out a great DJ, Scott Sica... and now I'm at a standstill. The caterer has me stuck. Then I have to figure out all the details. So exciting and frustrating at the same time. We'll get there though!:)

In the meantime, Finnegan is doing well. He ate a $10 bill & a nail file when he played Houdini & escaped the other day.
And he loves my old stuffed dog - Fuzzbucket.

Rain, Rain go Away

It has poured since we picked up Finn on Sunday morning. Today finally stopped raining, & I couldn't wait to get home & take Finn out! I was so happy that when I got home from work, he hadn't had any accidents in the house. However, the little sneak broke out of the hall where we had left him! When I opened the door, he jumped off the couch & sat on the floor looking up at me with this expression that said something like "What Momma? It wasn't me! I wasn't on your couch where I know I'm not allowed!" It was so damn cute. Anyways, we went out to play for a while. He loves the sun, his big backyard, & watching the cars go by from the front steps.

Introducing the Newest Member of the Family!

We adopted a pup! Meet Finnegan! Matt has wanted a pup since the moment we moved in the house (& even before), so we finally decided to start looking. I've always loved rottweilers; they're by far my favorite dog. Matt's last dog Bear was a part rottie mutt. Naturally we decided to search for rotties. We found this precious dog on Adopt-a-Pet.com early in the week. I was in love. Ten week old Travis was down in Tennessee staying with a foster mom through Critter Cavalry Rescue. He was driven up this morning to Rhode Island where Matt, & I picked him up. Finn is 11 weeks old, & he is part rottie, part hound, part Irish, and all ours! I'm in love! AND I'm even more in love with Matt after watching how absolutely adorable Matt was with him!!
